Ellicott City gets painted twice

   The Howard County Arts Council is sponsoring a "Paint it Ellicott City 2013" beginning this Friday July 12th. Ellicott City offers so many great locations for artists.  This weekend should be a good time to stroll the  Main Street of Ellicott City.  This is the info from the Arts Council:

"Paint It! Ellicott City 2013
July 12–14
Join us for this fun and popular outdoor event! Paint It! Ellicott City offers the community a unique window to the creative process — stroll the streets and shops of Historic Ellicott City as you watch artists capture the unique charms of the picturesque mill town.

Want to join the fun? Grab your brushes, set up your easel, and paint alongside the juried artists! For a small registration fee, you can also participate in the community exhibition and display your work during the opening reception and later at the Howard County Office of Tourism Welcome Center. Registration for the Open Paint-Out is available online, by mail, or in person during at the Center for the Arts (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) or the Howard County Tourism Welcome Center (Mon-Fri 10am-5pm, Sun 12-5pm).

    Speaking of painting Ellicott City it is exciting to hear that Ellicott City was one of the cities selected by Benjamin Moore paints to get a "paint over." Details on what this will entail are still to be worked out.
