Revised Post to today's Blog post!!

It was bound to happen.  The post earlier today on Maryland MVA not sending out notices to renew your license was a hoax for which I fell.  I often check out information I get in emails with Snopes.com but because this was Maryland specific and it came from someone I thought was a reliable source I fell for it.  Thanks to a blog reader for setting me straight.

P.S.
There's still time to donate to the Howard County Fire and Rescue Services' food drive. Citizens have until this Friday, January 13th to donate what they can. Each fire station is serving as a drop off site for non-perishable donations for the Howard County Food Bank.  The Food Bank is currently very low in inventory and in need of nutritious foods such as canned vegetables, fruits, pasta, cereals, canned meats and fish, juices, dried beans/lentils, canned spaghetti sauce, condiments, and personal care items.

Dear Duane,

You've been captured by an urban legend. MVA is REQUIRED BY LAW to send out the notices, and there is a statement on their website that this information being spread is a hoax.

Might want to update the blog. (The part about the 1-year expired re-take is correct, though.)
