STEM Education Center in Savage opens to public tomorrow

 


Last week I blogged on the preview tour of the newly renovated Savage Library that included a new STEM Education Center that brings a new important resource to our County.


    The notice from the Library describes the opening day activities:

    "Howard County Library System's Board of Trustees and President & CEO Valerie J. Gross cordially invite you to the Grand Re-Opening of the expanded and renovated HCLS Savage Branch & STEM Education Center on Tuesday, July 22.

Festivities begin at 12:30 pm with remarks by County Executive Ken Ulman, County Council Vice-Chair Courtney Watson, County Council Member Jen Terrasa, and HCLS Board Chair Bruce Rothschild.

Doors open after the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

1, 2, and 3 pm
Tours led by Grimm + Parker Architects

1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm
Outdoor Classroom demonstrations by Biohabitats

1, 3, and 5 pm
All Together Now classes for children

1 to 6 pm
Crafternoon for all ages (while supplies last)
HiTech activities for ages 11–18
Wii games, Uno tournament, crafts, activities for teens
Literary Elements adult summer reading table
Branch open until 9 pm"
