The rapidly changing face of downtown Columbia

Driving around Town Center these days it is hard to miss the signs of change.  The renovation of the old Rouse Building above into a Whole Foods store is moving along rapidly.

Areas that have served as overflow Mall parking during the holiday season for many years are now construction sites for apartments and condos.  With most of the area in Columbia already built out in housing this area maybe the last major addition to housing stock in Columbia.

The new plaza shopping area of the Mall is beginning to take shape and will the first taste of where malls are going these days.  Columbia 2.0 is taking shape.

Drive a quarter-mile into Wilde Lake, and the village center there is in a similar stage.
