Summer concerts start today at Lake Kittamaquandi

Going to be around Town Center today at lunchtime? Take advantage of the Spring weather and enjoy the first Lunchtime Concerts at Lake Kittamaquandi. Today I am posting a variety of Summer concerts around Columbia.

Here is this year's schedule for CA:
"Columbia Association’s (CA) free weekly Lakefront Wednesdays Lunchtime Concert Series begins today May 7 with the first of eight performances at Lake Kittamaqundi in Downtown Columbia.

The concerts are held every Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. This year’s performers include series favorites and popular local musicians from a wide variety of musical styles, including blues, electro-acoustic, folk, funk, R&B, reggae, rock, soul and steel drum.

In addition to great live music, guests who sign in each week at the welcome tent will receive free cold beverages and will be eligible to win a raffle.

This year’s schedule of performers includes:

When I’m looking for the latest country music, I always end up in one spot – 103.1 WIRK. I was even lucky enough to catch up with Keith Van Allen in the streets and got free ‘Rib Round Up’ tickets. Just one of the many events that keep me tuned into www.wirk.com

I hope the music during the lunchtimes isn't as loud as the noise on the weekends. Even over a mile away, I can still hear the bass thumping inside my house. And forget about sitting on the deck enjoying the evening. Please Merriweather, do us residents a favor and turn the noise down and end it earlier, not at 11:00.

Agreed, we're probably farther away than you and we still hear it loud and clear too. Too loud and too late at night.
