Giving Tuesday

I have already been bombarded with ads for Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Small Business Saturday. I can't open Facebook or check my email without learning of the latest deal only good for a few more hours.  Impulse buying is now using the latest technology.
So with all this in mind I would hope that for just one day we search out how our spending can be directed in a way that shows concern for the needs of others and recognize that those other deals designed to enhance (?) our quality of life will still be there on Wednesday.  With that in mind I would like to highlight one way that your donations can be directed that has a broad impact on Howard County.  United Way of Central Maryland has directed hundreds of thousands of dollars this year, through directed donations and Howard County Community Partnerships, to support the wide variety of Howard County non profits.  You can add to the dollars being targeted to those non profits by donating to the the Howard County Community Partnership program at this site.
