Downton Abbey mania returns today!

Maybe it is not hard to understand that after over 230 years we Americans still have such a fascination and affection for the British!  We follow the happenings of the British Royal Family like they were our royals.  Our colonial ancestors might be surprised at this fascination.
The event of the year for PBS happens this year today with the return of Downton Abbey. One of the most interesting aspects of this show is the interplay of the liberated American characters with their British in-laws. This is the most hyped show ever on PBS.  It is possible that one of the other cable channels could have produced this type of show but the reality is that only the BBC/PBS networks did.
For everyone who has heard the hype but has missed the first 3 seasons you can get a quick overview of the series today at 1:30 pm on Maryland Public Television channel 22.  The fourth season starts at 9 pm.

P.S.
