Pluto up close

great blocks of Pluto’s water-ice crust

NASA has just released new enhanced photos from the New Horizons mission that flew by Pluto a few months ago.  This is the space mission lead by scientists from our very own Applied Physics Laboratory.

Pluto’s rugged, icy cratered plains

Pluto seems to have a surface that has some resemblance to our Moon.  Even with this there are some who feel that water and the possibility of life of some kind could still exist on the planet.
