On Friday you will be able to hold and have your picture taken with the bat that Babe Ruth used in the 1927 season. The details on this event are from the Howard County Historical Society:
"FRIDAY JULY 12TH 7:00 - 9:00 PM: THE BABE'S BAT COMES TO HOWARD COUNTY!
Calling all Baseball fans! Join us at the Miller Branch Library (1st floor meeting rooms) for an extra-special event co-sponsored by the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum that will feature a chance to see – and be photographed with – Babe Ruth’s 1927 record-setting HR bat. We will be celebrating the Babe’s connection to Howard County - he was married to his first wife Margaret Helen Woodford, in Ellicott City at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in 1914.
The event will also feature Baseball Historian Dr. Jerrold Casway who will give a talk on the "original" Baltimore Orioles who played in Charm City from 1882-1899.
Ballpark Food and Drinks will be served.
Tickets are $20 per person, $15 for HCHS members. Space is limited. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Howard County Historical Society.Click here to purchase tickets "
