Spring brings the opening of farmers markets in Howard County. The first month or two of the markets tend to be short on locally grown produce. It usually means that the selections of locally grown produce don't appear in any quantity until June and July. Occasionally you can find some locally produced hot house produce early.
Locations and scheduled openings are:
- Wednesday May 8: Miller Library, 9421 Frederick Rd, Ellicott City, 2-6 p.m.
- Thursday May 9: East Columbia Library, 6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, 2-6 p.m.
- Friday May 10: Howard County General Hospital, 5755 Cedar Ln, Columbia, 2-6 p.m.
- Saturday May 11, Glenwood Library, 2350 State Route 97, Cooksville, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
- Sunday May 12, Oakland Mills Village Center, 5851 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
