Blood donations needed now!

      http://www.waynecountyredcross.org/images/Buddy_Blood_Drop.jpg
The American Red Cross has put out an urgent request for blood donations right now.  Most supplies of blood are at a one day supply which is down from the normal three day supply that the Red Cross tries to keep available.  Elective surgeries across the country are being cancelled to conserve blood for emergencies.  This has been a particularly hard Summer for the Red Cross with weather and other factors impacting blood donations.
I know I have blogged regularly about the need to donate blood but this situation in now an emergency.  As a former donor every six weeks and as someone who can no longer donate due to medication I take I would hope that at least one reader of this blog would step forward at this time to donate for me.  Link to Columbia Donation Center.
