I am going a little off topic today but I wanted to share one of the most interesting sites on the internet. The TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) conferences were started in 1984 to "share ideas worth sharing." If you are a person who is stimulated by interesting ideas this site is a gold mine. Their mission statement says it all.
"We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives
and ultimately, the world. So we're building here a clearinghouse that
offers free knowledge and inspiration from the world's most inspired
thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and
each other."
Conferences are held in Long Beach and Palm Springs and some other places around the world. Each speaker is given a maximum of 18 minutes to explain their idea. This prevents long winded talks. The conferences attract some of the biggest names like Bill Gates and Bill Clinton.
I listen to the talks by podcasts from Itunes that I download to my MP3 player. Check out some of their most listened to talks.
