Faceless No More

As I have passed homeless men on the streets of Baltimore and Washington I can't help but wonder what they were like at an earlier point in their lives.  Somehow being homeless they lose their identity as a person and almost become a painful reminder that life is a struggle that carries some of us "below the waterline."  What were they like as a child? What were the series of events that brought them to the point of being homeless?  What does the future hold for them?

In an effort to humanize the homeless some people who work with the homeless in Howard County have put out the "Homeless Gazette."  This publication gives homeless persons an opportunity to write about their experiences and give the rest of us an opportunity to see this population in a different light.  Take a look at it and then read Howard County's Plan to End Homelessness
